Our Roots

Father of EaglesPMI founder, Shamrock Hotel,

( circa 1980)

Shamrock Hotel (Daytona Beach, FL)

(circa 1949)

The origins of Eagles Hospitality Group came to fruition when a man of 56 years traveled 9,000 miles from his homeland to seek a better life for himself and his family.

He raised his sons with the same values that his forefathers had instilled in him. The sons were loyal to their father and heritage of work ethics and diligence, and had aspired to make something of themselves.

The middle son had taken on the venture of real estate and therefore hospitality, as opportunity had come into fruition. After years of working within the healthcare industry, and after investing into real estate, it was only right to take on the threshold of newer opportunities and aspirations.

Hence, Eagles Hospitality was born.

EaglesPMI - What's in a name?

The founder of EaglesPMI named the company as an attribute to the Tenth Master of the Sikh religion - Guru Gobind Singh. Many renowned historians have argued how the Tenth Master of the Sikh religion was one of the most just leaders in the history of the world. He possessed a rare Falcon, which was known as Chitta Baaj (White falcon) or Baaj. He had named the falcon Rustam. Rustam was his close companion in times of grief and victory. Rustam possessed many qualities which the Tenth Master felt was a lesson learned for the discipline and success of all human beings. These very principles are what have driven the success in our organization and we encourage our audience to pursue such attributes. Many qualities are listed below.

1.  Self Reliance

It is a fact that the Falcon will never eat what is given or provided to it; instead, it relies on itself, and hunts for its own food to survive. The Khalsa therefore teaches one, to be self-reliant and independent.

2.  Freedom

A Baaj cannot be kept in a cage under captivity. It either breaks the cage and flies out, or dies within. Similarly, we humans must try to not be enslaved by circumstances, greed or relationships and should strive to be free from all those things that hold us back.

3.  Humility

Just as a Baaj has the ability to soar the skies and yet spot its prey (even if its a small rat) on the ground below, we are advised that we should keep our focus on ground-level realities and not let egos come in the way as we set out to achieve greater heights and climb the many ladders of success that comes our way.

4.  Detachment

Did you know, that a Falcon never keeps a permanent home? It is always ready to fly away, explore new lands and is ever-ready to settle into new territories.  While nothing is permanent, this teaching of remaining unattached to material things is the most difficult to attain and is also the best formulae to happiness.

5. Resilience

All birds are known to fly in the direction of the wind, with the exception of the Falcon. It is the only bird that flies in the opposite direction. The Khalsa stresses on the need to be resilient – to be able to overcome every adversity or challenge with confidence.

6. Courage

All those NatGeo and Discovery Videos of Falcons teach us one thing – never to be afraid of taking down something bigger in size. IT is the unwavering passion of the Falcon when it swoops down on its prey – big or small, the Falcon doesn’t care, and neither should we!

7. Industrious

The Falcon is a hardworking bird that stressed upon in Sikhism

8. Nobility

If you’ve ever seen a Falcon fly, you know that it commands the sky with its presence. It is the very symbol of “royalty”. Royalty or nobility is a state of being, and so it teaches you to embody all virtues of a royal / noble – regardless of economic situation.  The Falcon promotes the values of integrity, honesty, benevolence, generosity, thoughtfulness for the community and the need to stand up for it.
